Here is an awesome live performance by Paul Simon of “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” from 1975’s “Still Crazy After All These Years.” Paul Simon is amazing, his instrumentals are completely underrated. The drums are so haunting by rarely dropping in this song, but If I could, I would marry Paul Simon, and if he left me (since he knows so many great ways to do so), at least I got 1 night.

Here is “You’re The One” off of 2000s “You’re The One.” So this might not be a technical oldie, but it is already 2009, so it is getting there. Listen to the bass and the teasing guitar and then tell me how this song just makes you want to bite your lower lip, bob your head and go ‘oooohhhhh yeahhhhh.’ He is having a lot of fun with his newer stuff. The lyrics are a little depressing, but it is Paul Simon, and they are beautiful.

Now onto some Stevie Wonder. Here is “Part Time Lover” from 1985’s “In Square Circle”

Here is “Don’t Worry ’bout a Thing” from 1973s “Innervisions”

I put these artists up because of their significant influence to the music we listen to today. Whether we realize it or not, they were visionaries in song composition, lyrics and were able to reach millions of fans and affect their perception of the power of music. These two are classics and a must-have for any music buff.
